么 me introduces a pause when the speaker needs time to think and wants to call attention to a particular point:

这件事么,我记不起来了。

Zhè jiàn shì me,wǒ jì bú qǐ lái le。

Oh that? . . . I can’t really remember much about it.

我的意见么,很简单。

Wǒ de yì jiàn me,hěn jiǎn dān 。

My suggestion . . . is very simple.

你累了么,就早点儿休息把。

Nǐ lèi le me,jiù zǎo diǎn ér xiū xī bǎ 。

You’re tired? . . . Well go to bed early then.
