Other than和Except都可以用来排除某人和某事：
Other than Sani, you may all leave now.
All of you may leave now except Santi.
Other than表示除了…之外，Except表示排除…在外：
Other than roses, we have sunflowers and peony. (This means we have sunflower, peony and roses.)
We have all kinds of flowers except roses. (This means we have no roses.)
有时候except可以和for连用，也表示排除…在外:
I like all vegetables except for bittergourd.
Other than和except for后都接动名词:
Other than going to the beach, I enjoy taking walks.
I enjoy eating seafood except for peeling the prawn shells.
