The Chinese comparative is marked by bi3比 which is placed right in front of the standard it is to be compared with, for example:
你比他高。”You are taller than him.”
他比你听话。 “He heeds advice better than you.”
When adding negators like bu4 or mei2, they can be placed in front of the comparative preposition but cannot precede the verb immediately, unless the verb is further marked by an adverb geng4更 “even more”, for examples:
他不比你听话。”He does not heed advice better than you.”
他没有比你听话。 “He has not heeded advice better than you.”
