两者都有"去除,除去"的意思

Except后排除的内容与主语往往是同一类的,而 except for后排除的内容与主语往往不是同一类

例; All the buildings are excellent except this one.

     All the buildings are excellent except for their location.

Except 可以说是从一个整体中除去一部分,

例:She looked everywhere except here.

Except for指总体是好的,除了后面的瑕疵

例:Your writing is good except for a few grammer mistakes.
